Cristian Marianciuc is a Romanian artist who began to challenge himself to create one intricate paper origami crane each day of the year back in 2015.

Marianciuc creates his pieces in response to his surroundings each day-- whether that be the music he is listening to or how he seems to feeling. In doing so, he has created over 1,000 cranes whose styles range from minimalistic to avant-garde pieces that are intricately cut, pressed with flowers or stitched with beading.

After growing a substantial collection and following on Instagram (@icarus.mid.air), Marianciuc has been asked to sell his creations. He has since opened up an Etsy shop where he sells his cranes from $100-$200 each.
